Junior Programs

Junior Indoor Cricket programs for players aged 8-16.

Indoor cricket gives young players the chance to develop their skills, build confidence, make friends, and stay involved throughout every match.

The game is fast, inclusive, and highly engaging. Every player bats, bowls, fields, and contributes to the team, making indoor cricket particularly well suited to junior participation and development.

Playing junior indoor cricket

Junior competitions and programs are delivered through indoor cricket centres and state and territory associations across Australia.

Available age groups, competition formats, and registration periods vary between locations. Your local centre can provide information about:

  • Junior leagues and development programs
  • Age groups and eligibility
  • Registration dates and fees
  • Training and match schedules
  • Opportunities for new players
  • State and national representative pathways

New players are welcome

Children do not need extensive cricket experience to play indoor cricket. Many centres offer opportunities for beginners, experienced players, and children moving between indoor and outdoor formats.

Indoor cricket helps young players develop batting, bowling, fielding, communication, decision-making, and teamwork in a supportive and fast-moving environment.

Representative pathways

Junior players may have opportunities to progress from local competitions into state teams and Australian championship events.

Australian Indoor Cricket is working with its member associations to strengthen junior participation and provide clearer, nationally consistent information about competitions, pathways, coaching, and player development.

Additional national junior resources will be published here as that work progresses.
